    Polynomials (Lesson 1/4)

    Polynomial Basics

    1 / 18

The word polynomial literally means "many terms". Rather than give you a wordy definition off the bat, here are some examples of expressions that are polynomials, and some that are not.

    Polynomial
    • 3x3−x5+1

    • z3+2z2+z

    • 1

    Not Polynomial
    • x6+√x

    • x3−x1

    • 3x2+3x−cosx
