    Differential Equations (Lesson 4/4)

    Second Order Differential Equations

    1 / 7

    Just as second derivatives have uses in basic calculus, we often work with differential equations involving second derivatives as well, which we call second-order differential equations. In differential notation, the second derivative of x would be written as:

    dt2d2x=dtd(dtdx)

    Let's experiment with using the techniques we already know to solve second-order differential equations.
